If you haven’t caught on by now, masturbation is one of my favorite things. Let me give you some more reasons why that is.

- Reduces stress.
- Helps you sleep better.
- Improves your self-esteem and body image.
- Helps treat sexual problems.
- Relieves menstrual cramps and muscle tension.
- Strengthens muscle tone in your pelvic and anal areas.1
- Lowers risk of stroke.2
- Improves overall heart health.3
- Lowers risk of prostate cancer.4
- Improves self esteem.5
Of course, I think one of the most impactful benefits of masturbation is the knowledge and power it provides you over your own sexuality. It’s key to learning how to own your pleasure. It provides a medium for learning how you like to be touched and interacted with. You can learn and share where you like to be touched, with how much pressure, what kind of patterns work for you and the list goes on. And even without another person involved, masturbation gives you the knowledge that you can take care of your sexual needs on your own.
